Well, if you didn't leave shiny things in obvious reach, we wouldn't have this problem, would we, Minerva? You can hardly blame a creature for following its nature.

This is not, incidentally, an excuse for a certain tabby cat to show up with feathers around her chops. In case I need to make myself plain.

Within obvious reach. The button was on my robes. That pesky bird decided it wasn't going to give up until it had stolen it!
